CONGRESSMAN RICHARD E. NEAL RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FROM NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE
Will Hold Town Hall Forums With National Committee to Preserve and Protect Social Security and Medicare Policy Director Dan Adcock on Monday in Longmeadow in Lenox

"My two sisters and I were raised on Social Security Survivor’s Benefits, and this allowed me to pursue an education and open the doors to get where I am today. As a result, every time I walk by a picture of President Franklin Roosevelt I stop to say ‘thank you.’ The fact remains Social Security and Medicare are two of America’s crowning achievements; Social Security is the greatest antipoverty program in the history of the world, while Medicare ads years to life and life to years. Upon entering Congress, I pledged to be the strongest advocate for preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare and I still believe they are sound principles for taking care of our seniors. When Republicans senselessly tried to privatize Social Security, I traveled the country defending Social Security. This endorsement from the National Committee to Preserve and Protect Social Security and Medicare reaffirms my core values.”

(SPRINGFIELD) After once again receiving the endorsement from the National Committee to Preserve and Protect Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM), Congressman Richard E. Neal will join NCPSSM Policy Director Dan Adcock to co-host two town hall conversations discussing the future of Social Security and Medicare. Neal and Adock will speak at Jewish Geriatric Services- 770 Converse Street, Longmeadow- and then will travel to Kimball Farms- 235 Walker Street, Lenox.

"My two sisters and I were raised on Social Security Survivor’s Benefits, and this allowed me to pursue an education and open doors to get where I am today,” said Neal. “As a result, every time I walk by a picture of President Franklin Roosevelt I stop to say ‘thank you.’ The fact remains, Social Security and Medicare are two of America’s crowning achievements; Social Security is the greatest antipoverty program in the history of the world, while Medicare ads years to life and life to years. Upon entering Congress, I pledged to be the strongest advocate for preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare and I still believe they are sound principles for our seniors. When Republicans senselessly tried to privatize Social Security, I traveled the country defending Social Security. This endorsement from the National Committee to Preserve and Protect Social Security and Medicare reaffirms my core values.”

In the attached letter endorsing Neal, NCPSSM President Max Richtman states, “Our nation needs your continued leadership, vision and determination to fight for working families and older Americans. You earned the endorsement of the National Committee because you understand and support the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the retirement and health security of our nation's older citizens and their families.”

When President George W. Bush attempted to turn the Social Security Trust Fund over to Wall Street, Neal was tapped by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to travel the country speaking against Republican proposals
