CONGRESSMAN RICHARD E. NEAL TO VOTE IN FAVOR OF AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
Challenges Republican Colleagues to Get Government Working Again
(SPRINGFIELD) Upon pledging to vote in favor of the Affordable Care Act, which is scheduled for tomorrow, Congressman Richard E. Neal challenged Republican colleagues to commit to allowing government to function.
“The historic Affordable Care Act- passed by the legislative branch, signed by the executive branch and upheld by the judicial branch- is law. What Republicans are doing tomorrow is simply political theatre and I refuse to subscribe to their empty rhetoric. I look forward to casting a vote tomorrow in favor of the Affordable Care Act, President Obama and the health of the American people. As we have seen over the past year, time and again, Republicans govern based on ideology and are willing to hold our nation hostage. Going forward, Republicans must understand our government can only work if they join my fellow Democrats at the table to seek common sense solutions.”
