Richie Neal endorsed by Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD – Congressman Richie Neal has been endorsed by the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, representing over 12,000 firefighters across the Commonwealth.

In the endorsement, PFFM President Rich MacKinnon, Jr., praised Congressman Neal, saying:

“Our members recognize and thank you for your attention and focus on fixing the Social Security WEP, to lower prescription drug prices, and to reduce the out of pocket healthcare costs.

“As the Chairman of Ways and Means, you have the ability to make a positive impact on all Massachusetts residents, not only the constituents of the 1st MA District. The PFFM appreciates your influence on Capitol Hill.

“During your tenure as an elected official, you have always been a voice for the working class. Your relationships with organized labor, especially firefighters, have always remained essential to you, and we applaud you for taking those values to Capitol Hill.”

In 2019 alone, Congressman Neal, along with the Massachusetts delegation, secured over $13 million in federal grants to aid Massachusetts firefighters, including over $5.5 million awarded to fire departments in the First Congressional District. The federal funding will give firefighters access to life-saving equipment that will keep them safe while working in dangerous conditions.
