“As a high school student, there are two things often on my mind that may surprise you - the environment and gun violence. The threats of climate change and deadly weapons are very real - forcing students to live in fear for their present and future. A chip bag pops in the cafeteria and we move to hide under tables; we see the plastic in our oceans and know that we will suffer because of it. Our government seems to value material things over the lives of people, whether it be refusing common-sense gun legislation to appease lobbying groups or ignoring climate change to get rich from the oil industry. But not Richard Neal. He takes direct action to preserve my future, with legislation like the GREEN Act supporting renewable energy and trade deals with Canada and Mexico that are tougher on environmental policies.”
